The Syriac Institute supports the academic promotion of the Syro-Aramaic tradition in Salzburg. This includes education and training, ecumenism and students studying for the MA in Syriac Theology at the University of Salzburg. The Institute also funds research, conferences and publications.
To date the Syriac Institute has funded three part-time academic positions in Syriac Theology and two part-time administrative positions. Further it has financed MA students to teach, and funded staff for Beth Suryoye international Student house in Salzburg.
